Abstract: This report summarizes the work performed by Specialty Plastic Products of Pennsylvania Inc. and their subcontractor, Simula Safety Systems Inc., under the Manufacturing Technology (MANTECH) program sponsored by the U.S. Army Materiel Command and executed by the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Center. The objective of this effort was to investigate M Cubed Technologies Inc.'s siliconized silicon carbide armor material and process as an alternative ceramic component for the multi-Service Intercepter Small Arms Protective Inserts (SAPI).
