Report No. ARL-TR-3720
Authors: Richard J. Szymber
Date/Pages: February 2006; 22 pages
Abstract: The U.S. Army has stated and validated their tactical weather support and data element requirements over the past 30 years. Over 80 weather and environmental data elements, along with their required accuracies, are required for Army tactical weather support. This report establishes the spatial (horizontal and vertical) and temporal resolutions for meteorological forecasts necessary to satisfy the validated accuracy requirements, based on Army echelons (levels of command). Similar information on resolutions is also provided for the new Army modular forces echelons and unit designations.
