Central Processing Unit/Graphics Processing Unit (CPU/GPU) Hybrid Computing of Synthetic Aperture Radar Algorithm

Report No. ARL-TR-5074
Authors: Song Jun Park and Dale Shires
Date/Pages: February 2010; 26 pages
Abstract: Graphics Processing Unit's (GPU's) powerful compute engine is leveraged to enhance the stand-alone capability of a central processing unit (CPU). Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) algorithm is analyzed and implemented to execute on a system equipped with a graphics card. Being a combined CPU/GPU solution, optimizations were applied to both architectures for optimal hardware utilization.
