Energy on Target Analysis for Laser Designators

Report No. ARL-TR-8243
Authors: by Neal Bambha; Dan Beekman
Date/Pages: December 2017; 26 pages
Abstract: One necessary condition for a successful target engagement using a laser-designated weapon system is to keep most of the laser energy on the target for most of the engagement time. This report determines the maximum range at which that is possible, given the characteristics of the target and the laser designator system.
