ARL recognizes student research achievements at 2015 Summer Student Symposium

The ninth annual U.S. Army Research Laboratory Summer Student Symposium was recently held at the Adelphi Laboratory Center and showcased the summer student research activity conducted at ARL. Various poster presentations were held throughout the day, and 13 graduate and undergraduate student presentations were presented and evaluated by the ARL Fellows and the ARL Director to determine the winners in each category.

The winners are as follows:

Undergraduate Category

Gold Medalist: Erez Krimsky (Weapons and Materials Research Directorate)
Dislocation Nucleation and Activation in Single Crysta GaN

Silver Medalist: Sauradeep Sinha (Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate)
Accelerated Lifetime Testing on Porous Silicon

Bronze Medalist: Carli Moorehead (WMRD)
Development and Characterization of Water-Soluble Polymer Gel Casting System for Use in the Production of Transparent Alumina Bodies Using a Magnetic Field

Graduate Category

Gold Medalist: Taylor Stockdale (WMRD)
Characterizing the Internal Morphology of KM2 Ballistic Fibers

Silver Medalist: Hope Davis (Human Research and Engineering Directorate)
Effects of Cognitive Fatigue on High Intensity Circuit Exercise

Bronze Medalist: Daniel Rhodes (SEDD)
Transport characteristics of MoxW1-xTe2 alloys
