Abstract: The need for improved, lighter weight vehicles and equipment will almost always be a key issue with Army systems. Unfortunately, other countries are improving their weapon systems and techniques in parallel with this effort, as is evident in this latest conflict. Therefore, Soldiers have to adapt ?on the fly? and are reinforcing the armor on their vehicles in the field. This is providing the needed protection but is expediting the wear and tear of vehicles and shortening their life expectancies. Thus, a lightweight armor solution was needed that provided the necessary protection as well as reducing the load on the vehicles. This report investigates hybrid solutions for reinforcing the armor on air assault ground mobility vehicles.
