UGS, UGV, and MAV in the 2007 C4ISR OTM Experiment

Abstract: In the summer of 2007 as part of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance On-the-Move (C4ISR OTM) experiment, the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and the Communications- Electronics Research, Development, and Engineering Command (CERDEC) demonstrated the viability of integrating a variety of unattended ground sensors (UGS), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and micro air vehicles (MAVs) into a Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below (FBCB2) based system that provides situational awareness (SA) and command and control (C2) to the lowest tactical echelons. In this report we describe the system architecture, techniques and components used to effect this integration.
