Abstract: We extend results obtained for fault detection and present a procedure for calculating condition indicators that is tailored to detect a recently observed fault. We illustrate how it arises naturally from consideration of statistics commonly calculated as part of constant false alarm rate (CFAR) target detection algorithms.
