Abstract: The Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate (SLAD) of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) provides survivability, lethality, and vulnerability analyses and expert technical consultation on survivability matters. Traditionally, these analyses focused on single items analyzed in isolation; while still important, this focus is insufficient to address the current needs of SLAD's most important customers including U.S. Army Test and Evaluation command (ATEC) and Program Executive Offices (PEOs) Program Managers (PMs). In order to enable the required force operating capabilities, Army leadership is defining and developing complex system of systems (SoS) suites of technologies called "capability packages". This report documents how we are analyzing technologies and capability packages in a mission based SoS context.
