Six New Fellows Selected

February 11, 2010

The ranks of the U.S. Army Research Laboratory Fellows have increased following the recent appointment of six new Fellows by ARL Director John Miller.

The new Fellows include Dr. Jan Andzelm, Dr. Alan Edelstein, Dr. Rose Pesce-Rodriguez, Dr. Brian Sadler, Dr. Gorden Videen and Dr. Michael Wraback.

The Fellows constitute a select group of ARL's most eminent scientists, mathematicians, engineers and analysts. Election is an honor bestowed by the incumbent Fellows strictly on the basis of exceptional technical accomplishment, reputation, the prospect of continued productivity, and a willingness to contribute to the functions of the Fellowship.

The evaluation criteria used to select Fellows are grouped into three major areas: impact on ARL, national, and international technical and military communities; recognition and professional activity; and technical leadership.

The new Fellows will be inducted at the next Fellows meeting scheduled for Spring 2010 at the Army Research Office in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
