HowIChart Utilizes Advanced Java Features to Support Code Maintenance

Report No. ARL-TN-0805
Authors: Frederick S Brundick
Date/Pages: December 2016; 24 pages
Abstract: When an application is written it is important to employ the best practices of the language being used. If the developer is using an object-oriented language, then that is the paradigm they should follow rather than the procedural methodology that they learned in college. It will make it easier for future writers to maintain and modify the code. This technical note contains a discussion of some Java features that were incorporated into the IChart application developed for the Joint Staff/J-8 Directorate.
