Abstract: Pathogenic bacteria, once deposited on surfaces, can contaminate military personnel, vehicles, and other assets. This project aims to develop materials that can be integrated into current paint formulations that decontaminate surfaces to prevent bacterial infections. These materials upon integration into paint formulations will spontaneously segregate to surfaces and provide self-decontaminating surfaces. These synthesized materials consist of Boltorn hyperbranched polymers that are functionalized with hydantoin, alkyl, and perfluorinated groups.
