ModelControlling Mutually Adaptive Systems

This thrust focuses on the long term human sciences research challenges underlying the integration of human and intelligent systems in dynamic applications. The effort focuses on investigating the factors involved mutual adaptation, i.e., when humans and intelligent agents both adapt to the outputs of the other over multiple time scales. The initial focus seeks to understand and model human adaptation to technology, the environment, and other humans. Our long term goals are to enhance overall performance of heterogeneous multi-agent, human-system teams by increasing their capabilities to respond to changing environments and to each other.
