ADELPHI, Md. (April 11, 2016) – The Work Environment Subcommittee of ARL's People First team is looking for a few "good idea" employees to join a special committee to help define what it means to be "One ARL."

That's the moniker of a new, 12-month campaign the subcommittee hopes to develop to encourage workforce cohesion, enhance teamwork and better enable the workforce to take ownership and stewardship of ARL.

The meeting will be held Thursday, April 28 at 1 p.m. and can be accessed by VTC or conference call. Conference rooms have been reserved on Aberdeen Proving Ground in building 4602 in conference room 119 and at Adelphi Laboratory Center, conference room 4D025 in building 205. Employees at other ARL sites are welcome to participate.

Identified early on by the People First Steering Committee as a top priority, the "One ARL" campaign is being developed to showcase ARL's best attributes that promote trust, camaraderie, and respect, said Danell Diggs, chair of the Work Environment subcommittee. "We're inviting workforce suggestions to help us better know what our peers believe is necessary for ARL to operate as one – one team, focused on one mission," said Diggs.

Persons interested in contributing ideas, but who are unable to attend the meeting, may send their thoughts in advance to Diggs or the People First website. She can be reached at The People First mailbox is

The initial meeting will be a facilitated brainstorming session, from which a plan will be drafted and shared with the special committee for input. The goal is to launch the "One ARL" campaign this summer.
